pada awalnya, band ini nggak lebih dari proyek solo Dochi . Dia merekam sendiri beberapa lagu yang dia buat dalam format akustik. Belakangan, Dochi kepikiran buat membawakan lagu-lagunya dalam format band. Akhirnya, salah satu lagu dia yang berjudul ‘Here Up On The Attic’, coba dia rekam dengan format band. Dia memainkan semua instrumennya sendiri. Bermodalkan rekaman ini, dia mencari teman-teman yang mau bergabung dan membantunya. Dan lalu menamakan nya PEE WEE GASKINS.

Pee wee Gaskins di ambil dari nama pembunuh berantai Amerika era 70an, Donald Henry Gaskins, karena badannya yang kecil dia dijuluki “Pee Wee”. Dengan korban lebih dari 200 orang dia dijuluki “the most dangerous man in America”. Pada saat itu, kenapa kita milih Pee Wee Gaskins ? Yeah dari namanya orang ga langsung tau kalo itu nama pembunuh, malah terkesan lucu.. But with the name of a serial killer, we try to make killer music. “Lalu kita ambil filosofi nya, ‘kecil-kecil bisa membunuh banyak orang,” kata Dochi.

Modal mereka hanya sebuah mini album, namun kesuksesan mereka sangatlah luar biasa untuk ukuran band yang baru berumur 2 tahun. Album yang sold out hingga 2000 keping, tawaran manggung yang berdatangan sampai ke luar Pulau Jawa.

Ditambah dengan endorsement dari beberapa brand clothing terkenal yang membuat mereka nggak perlu lagi membeli pakaian untuk manggung. “dari atas sampai bawah, semuanya gratis. Haha” celetuk Dochi.

Heavy music and pained lyrics go together like cake and ice cream, and Belton, Texas quintet, Flyleaf, aren't about to break with tradition. But while many loud rockers reopen old wounds by singing about their broken homes and broken hearts, Flyleaf confront past traumas to heal old scars and prove in the process that hope shines brighter than despair.

"I used to be in a really negative band, and that seemed to almost fuel my emptiness because that's what the songs were about," says charismatic singer Lacey Mosley. "That's why I think what we're doing is important because there needs to be something heavy out there that has a positive message so people see that it's possible to get through the worst situations."

Flyleaf's self-titled debut album echoes with songs about abuse, neglect, addiction and dysfunction, and messages about overcoming adversity. And the band's wide array of brooding beats, atmospheric textures and lunging riffs compliment Mosley's emotionally revealing lyrics, which range from breathy and beautiful to scathing and aggressive.

"I'm So Sick," starts with a moody bass line throbbing over a haunting ethereal vocal before guitars crash in like a rock through a plate glass window. The track see-saws between rage and reflection, guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann providing textural flourishes and atmospheric touches that bridge the emotional shifts. "Cassie" layers stop-start guitars atop an urgent backbeat and builds to an exultant chorus. "All Around You" augments a wall of power chords with evocative jazzy licks and "Fully Alive" is a cinematic number with angry muted riffs that segue into another glorious refrain.

Flyleaf's infectiously heavy positivism is all the more surprising considering Mosley's struggles while growing up. "My mom was a young single mother of six," she explains. "We didn't have money and things were hard for all of us. We moved whenever we couldn't make ends meet in one place, and that happened pretty often so there was a lot of struggling, suffering and character building.

"It's easy to get depressed when you're dealing with that kind of stress," she continues, "especially when it looks like things will never get better. There was nothing constant in my life, and nothing to believe in. I got into some really bad stuff that I thought would make me feel more loved, or maybe just numb, but it cost me everything that was important to me, and literally almost took my life."

When you take a dive, sometimes you have to hit the bottom before you can swim your way back to the top. For Mosley, writing songs about survival helped her reach the surface and breathe again. "I had to lose everything to look up and see that there is a truly constant hope of a happy ending and that's what we make music for," she says. "If my music helps one person, than it's worth having been through what I've experienced."

Five years ago, Mosley started playing music with drummer James Culpepper. The two joined up with Bhattacharya and Hartmann, who were in a local band that had just split up. "Our first practice together was awesome," Mosley says. "Sameer and Jared are really experimental with melodies and pedals, and we all had different influences that were all blending together with the same passionate and hopeful heart, and that brought out this beautiful feeling. It was magical." Bassist Pat Seals joined in 2002. "The doors were open and I just happened to walk through at the right time," Seals says.

Flyleaf played anywhere they could slowly but consistently increased their fan base with local bands and national acts like Riddlin Kids, Bowling for Soup, Fishbone, and Evanescence. Eventually they landed a show at Austin's legendary annual music convention South by Southwest in 2003.

Although their set started at the un-rock n' roll time of 5 p.m., they rocked the house, which lead to a showcase for various labels. After many meetings and much deliberation, Flyleaf signed with Octone.

Then in early 2005 the band's self-titled debut EP - produced by Rick Parasher (Pearl Jam, Blind Melon) and Brad Cook (Foo Fighters, Queens of The Stone Age) - was released and listeners got a taste of the band's poignant song craft through tracks like "Breathe Today", "Cassie" and "I'm Sorry" which also appear on Flyleaf's full length. To support the EP, Flyleaf toured with Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down, STAIND and Trust Company, though many of the audiences at these shows had no idea who Flyleaf were when they started playing, every night their spirited performances earned them new fans. To launch the LP, Flyleaf is touring with Cold, STAIND, POD and Taproot.

"We think about where we started and where we are and realize, 'wow, we are playing in front of 1000 people tonight.' And then we just can't be thankful enough to those bands who gave us a chance to play with them, even though we are sort of nobodies."

In spring 2005, Flyleaf recorded their full-length debut with acclaimed producer Howard Benson, who has previously worked with Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, POD and All American Rejects. Flyleaf stayed in Los Angeles for two months and worked on more than 20 songs with Benson at Bay 7 Studios. Together they decided on 12 of them to arrange, fine tune and shape so they best reflected the group's powerful messages and experiences.

"He really took an interest in what we had to say and helped put all the parts in the right places," Mosley says. "We were so used to recording with our friends and finishing whole EPs in a few hours. So it was great to spend 2 months with Howard having this surreal professional experience in every part of the process."

Flyleaf originally called itself Passerby, but another artist trademarked the name before they had the chance. Ultimately the group decided to change its name to something far more befitting of their personal, confessional songs.

"A flyleaf is the blank page at the front of a book," explains Mosley. "It's the dedication page, the place you write a message to someone you're giving a book to. And, that's kind of what our songs are -- personal messages that provide a few moments of clarity before the story begins."

With their tight knit chemistry, compassionate approach and songs that haunt the mind hours after they've stopped playing, Flyleaf are turning heads and leaving crowds wanting more. Indeed, their story has just begun

Biografi Uneroath

Since their inception, Florida's Underoath has evolved from a run-of-the-mill Christian metalcore band into a fluid, dynamic, and energized rock group that adeptly blends emotive melody, charged punk rock rhythm, and chunky, engaging bottom end. Underoath formed in 1998 in vocalist Dallas Taylor's bedroom. Within a year, the group -- with guitarist Tim McTague, drummer Aaron Gillespie, and keyboardist Christopher Dudley -- had inked a deal with Alabama's Takehold record label. In July 1999, Underoath released the six-song Act of Depression CD, which sold over 2,000 copies. The five-song Cries of the Past followed a year later, selling over 3,000 copies.
In 2002, Takehold licensed all of its bands and releases to Seattle's Tooth & Nail/Solid State label. Underoath hit the studio and recorded the ten songs that would comprise their first album under the new partnership, appropriately titled The Changing of Times. Taylor abruptly left the group in the middle of 2003's Warped Tour, leaving distressed fans contemplating the band's uncertain future. Underoath -- which also included bassist Grant Brandell and guitarist James Smith -- continued on, however, enlisting ex-This Runs Through member Spencer Chamberlain as their new vocalist.

A year later, the new lineup released They're Only Chasing Safety and supported it on the road with bands like Thrice, the Bled, Hopesfall, and Fear Before the March of Flames. A special edition of the album was next released in fall 2005 that included four bonus tracks; touring continued with a spring 2006 headlining tour alongside Poison the Well, As Cities Burn, and others. Deciding to stick with Tooth & Nail instead of jumping to a major label, the sextet showcased substantial growth and maturity on their next effort, Define the Great Line, issued in June 2006.

A heavier, more emotional album than the breakout success of 2004's Chasing Safety, the record sold close to 100,000 copies in just its first week of release and was certified gold by the year's end. Embraced by fans and critics alike and considered the band's masterpiece by many, the group supported it on Warped's main stage that summer. But with a month of dates remaining, tensions within Underoath's ranks suddenly came to a head, causing them to drop off the traveling festival. Rumors swirled of their impending breakup, but the guys remained adamant that a much-needed break was merely due to sort things out. They proved themselves by returning in 2006 with Define the Great Line. Climbing all the way to number two, the album became the highest-charting Christian album on the Billboard 200 since 1997 when LeAnn Rimes took the number one spot with You Light Up My Life. Underoath returned to the studio in 2008 for Lost in the Sound of Separation, an 11-song behemoth of a record that saw the group adopt a darker, more experimental (yet still undeniably heavy) sound. Biografi Amber Pacific

Amber Pacific (Federal Way, WA) is a band that aims to follow in the footsteps of the late, great Seattle-area music scene. Though the well-known regional influences are not largely apparent in their music, coming of age in a city that has been constantly buzzing with brand new amalgamations of rock since the early 90’s has proven beneficial for the band. Amber Pacific is today just as much a product of its musical environment as it is a cornerstone of the new Seattle-area music scene. With an average age of 19, they have the energy and enthusiasm to put Seattle back on the musical map in 2004!

The story goes... In September of 2002, Will, Blake (former drummer), Justin, and Tyler (former bassist) came together to form the band “Follow Through”. They were self-described as a "bit of everything from punk, pop, emo, whatever". During a random conversation in High school shortly after the bands inception, Justin mentioned that his band needed a singer. And happen chance, Matt voiced an interest. Strangely enough the first time Follow Through heard Matt sing was a couple weeks later in the studio when the band decided to record rough demos of a few of their first songs. After hearing him lay down vocal tracks, the band asked him to be a permanent member. As for shows, Follow Through played their first show to an audience other than Will’s parents J at “Club Impact” on March 1, 2003. They continued to play local shows that year and began taking “the band” more seriously. Due to differences within the band, Tyler (original bassist) left in the summer of 2003. Shortly after, Greg became the new bass guitarist. And late summer 2003, with a collection of well-crafted, technically mature and catchy tracks in their repertoire, they headed back into the studio to record their second EP in hopes of what was to come.

The end of that summer, the band took on a hefty schedule of college classes, local shows, printing CDs, self-promoting in the area, talking to various labels, and ultimately deciding what they really wanted out of the band. It is a strange time in any bands career because when the opportunity finally presents itself to tour and sign with a label, the decision between parents, college, friends, girlfriends, etc. and chance to chase a dream can be a difficult one. During the search Blake, the former drummer, decided that he wanted to pursue other interests. Although discouraged and in the midst of losing a close friend and drummer, the remaining members decided that “Once in a lifetime…” was worth the chance. All the while this was occurring; the recent recording fell into the hands of Hopeless Records. And shortly after, the band was signed to the label on January 23, 2004. As well, after signing, it was discovered that the band would need to change its name due to legal reasons. Follow Through was now to be known as Amber Pacific.

Without a drummer now, the band began trying out new drummers. Dango flew out from Tennessee where he had been a studio drummer for some bigger name artists (but there was no passion for him in the genres those artists played). So with a ridiculous amount of college debt (from going to a private music college) he decided that he would move out to Washington and rough it out trying to be in a band that played the music he liked. Bringing us to now.

The EP “Fading Days” was released on Hopeless Records May 25th 2004. Amber Pacific will be playing 30 dates of this summer’s Warped Tour on the Take Action Stage. And are looking to record their first full length in late 2004. The disc may be called Fading Days, but with it, Amber Pacific is leaving little to chance as it embraces the future.

Biografi Sistem Of A Down

HISTORY

System of a Down (sometimes referred to as S.O.A.D.) is a Alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of Serj Tankian (vocals, keyboards), John Dolmayan (drums), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals) and Shavo Odadjian (bass), who are known more for the outspoken social and political views found in their songs than for their distinctive dress styles and goatees. All four members are of Armenian ancestry.

System of a Down uses a wide range of instruments, including baritone electric guitars, electric mandolins, sitars, 12-string classical guitars and many other East Asian instruments. Their main influences are most noticeably from earlier alternative rock bands, but they also draw influence from the heavy metal, punk rock, jazz, fusion, Armenian folk music, classic rock, blues, and industrial genres.

The band enjoyed moderate success with their first singles, "Sugar", ranked number 9 on the top 50 Songs that changed the world by Kerrang magazine, "Suite-Pee" and "Spiders", from their debut album System of a Down. However, their big break came from their critically acclaimed second album, Toxicity, which debuted at #1 on the American and Canadian charts, eventually achieving multi-platinum certification. The album was #1 in America on the week of the September 11, 2001 attacks and the political environment caused by the attacks added to the controversy surrounding their hit single "Chop Suey!", released in the late summer of 2001. System of a Down received constant airplay in the United States throughout late 2001 and 2002 with their hits, "Chop Suey!", "Toxicity", "Aerials", from their second album, Toxicity, and "Innervision" from their third album, Steal This Album!.

In November 2002 their third album, which contains songs which were recorded for but not included in the first two albums, was released under the name Steal This Album!. Early recordings of most of the songs had leaked out onto the internet and were well received by the fans resulting in the subsequent release. There are five different designs of the album available. One version of the CD resembles a CD Recordable that was labeled with a felt-tip marker. 50,000 copies of each of the other four featured designs were released. The four individual band members; Serj, Shavo, Daron and John; each designed one of the special covers.

In 2004, the band recorded two brand new albums named Mezmerize and Hypnotize. Mezmerize was released in the United States and Europe on May 17 2005, and in Australia on May 22 2005, while Hypnotize is to be released in the United States on November 22. In early January, 2005, a new track called "Cigaro" was purposely leaked onto the internet to be praised from fans, followed by the release of the single "B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bombs)", which worked its way up the North American singles charts. In January too they played at Big Day Out in Oceania a song for their up-coming album Hypnotize called Tentative. The next single was Question!, with bassist Shavo Odadjian co-directing the video. Mezmerize was a successful release for the band, immediately shooting up to the top of the US charts, making it the group's second consecutive number-one debut. First week sales rocketed to over 800,000 copies worldwide, with the album debuting at number-one in over a dozen other countries, including Canada, Japan, Australia, Germany, and France. The album has also been generally well received by critics. In late September, 2005, the band filmed the first (official) single "Hypnotize" for the second disc. The single was released late September, to be broadcast on radio stations.

NU-METAL DISPUTE

There is some contention over the band's genre regarding whether they are nu metal, which can carry negative connotations to some, or alternative metal.

System of a Down has been labeled as "nu metal" by some fans and media since their incarnation. This can be attributed to the release of their first album, which occurred during the "nu metal" boom of the mid-to-late '90s. The band also toured with Ozzfest, a festival that typically features many up-and-coming nu metal bands. Their music features guitar solos, a common trait of traditional metal bands. Their guitar riffs are also strongly reminiscent of those found in thrash metal.

Those who disagree with the nu metal label argue that System of a Down uses no rapping or turntables in any of their songs. Such hip-hop influences are typical traits of nu metal.

Guitarist Daron Malakian has said in a Guitar World interview that he is glad System of a Down has not slipped into the nu metal genre. During a 2005 concert, he announced, "They used to call us nu-metal, now they call us prog rock. I think they'll call us anything that's popular."

In a 2005 interview with the Houston Press, Malakian said, -Lately, we've been doing interviews, and people have been like, 'You guys are really leading the way for the new prog movement,' and I'm like, 'What?' Because a couple of years ago, these guys were comparing us to Limp Bizkit and Korn, and now that we're still here and those bands aren't, they're talking about prog. It's just kind of aggravating that people always have to have something to compare us to, or bunch us up with. I'm not saying we're the most original band in the world, but I don't really feel that we fall into a heavy-metal category or a pure rock category. There's a lot of stuff mixed up into one.

ARMENIAN GENOCIDE ISSUE

All four of the band members are of Armenian ancestry, and they have pursued recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the U.S. and Turkish governments through both music and political action. The lyrics of many of the band's songs deal with this issue. "P.L.U.C.K." (Politically Lying Unholy Cowardly Killers) is a song about the Genocide (this song is played in the movie Ararat). The album booklet entry regarding the song says: "System Of A Down would like to dedicate this song to the memory of the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by the Turkish Government in 1915." The Armenian Genocide is still highly sensitive in certain communities. The government of Turkey still denies that the events were genocide. The song "Holy Mountains" was revealed to regard to the Armenian Genocide by Tankian on the Axis of Justice radio network. Another song thought to be about the Armenian Genocide is "X".

Biografi Sandal Jepit - Ini Bukan Album Metal

In early 92 four youngsters from Bandung decided to share their interest in Rock Music. Sendal Jepit Started as a tribute band for many well known punk bands and metal bands at that time. When Underground scene went big, Sendal Jepit mark their existence as a tribute band for Bad Religion. The Band decided to put their own Songs in to the scene and release 4 singles in 95.The single ‘Nina’ brought Sendal Jepit to a larger scale, and takes the band into so many shows in 94 until 95. In mid of 97 Sendal Jepit released their first self titled LP. With the success selling of their self titled LP Sendal Jepit stood their ground in the local scene, but unfortunately Maruli (guitar) had to left the band. After a few months sendal jepit decided to put adwin to fill Maruli’s position. Unfortunately Adwin had to put his job before the band and left Sendal Jepit with only 4 members. It was quite a depressing time for the band. The Band vanished from the scene for over a year,but manage their way to rise by releasing ‘Ini Bukan Album Baru’ EP in 2003. The Band decided to recruit Brew as their new guitar player in the band in early 2004. And their latest full length was released in end of 2004 with the title ‘Ini Bukan Album Metal’. Ramdhan left the band in 2005 and the band instantly recruit Ijan as their Drummer. Ijan managed to put a new soul to Sendal Jepit and take the band to more further exploration.

Biografi Antipop

Nama yang mereka ambil dari sebuah buku tebal berjudul Life Style Ecstacy yang merupakan cikal bakal awal terbentuknya band ini. Antipop terbentuk pada pertengahan tahun 2001 dan sempat fakum selama hampir 2 tahun. Setelah mencapai kata sepakat dengan perombakan formasi terdahulu akhirnya antipop kembali aktif di awal tahun 2004 dengan formasi yang lebih solid plus konsep musik yang berbeda dari sebelumnya.

Sebuah alasan mengapa mereka mengunakan nama ini dikarenakan, Budaya pop merupakan budaya vernakular yang diamalkan oleh masyarakat modern. Kebanyakannya isi budaya pop ditentukan oleh industri-industri yang menyebarkan bahan-bahan kebudayaan, umpamanya film, televisyen dan industri-industri penerbitan, termasuk media berita. Walau bagaimanapun, budaya pop tidak boleh hanya dianggap sebagai produk aggregat industri-industri saja; sebaliknya, ia merupakan hasil daripada interaksi yang berlangsung antara industri-industri tersebut dan orang-orang di dalam masyarakat yang menggunakan produk-produk itu. Inilah yang agaknya telah menjadi semacam filsafat di balik perangai praktik-praktik gaya hidup di tengah arus budaya pop hari ini. Gaya hidup dan budaya pop adalah sebuah korelasi yang kian menjadi suatu keniscayaan ketika di dalamnya juga media massa, terutama televisi, turut berperan dan menjadi penanda penting dalam membentuk histeria budaya konsumerisme. Meski pada batas-batas tertentu gaya hidup tidaklah bisa disebut bahwa ia mencakup seluruh pengalaman sosial, namun dengan seluruh kecenderungannya di tengah arus budaya pop dan budaya konsumerisme yang dihembuskan oleh media, gaya hidup merupakan bagian dari kehidupan sosial sehari-hari dunia modern. Sebagai bagian dari pembentuk gaya hidup, budaya pop memaktubkan kekuatan provokasi dan seduksi-nya pada media massa, terutama iklan sebagai representasi citraan, karena itulah banyak disebut bahwa iklan adalah karya seni di abad 20.

Bebek (Vokal), Sorrow (Gitar), Kuzkuz (Gitar), Dodik (Bass) dan Agus (Drum) mencoba memadukan konsep berbeda antara musik Death Metal dan Punk yang pastinya akan menjadi konsep baru dr musik antipop kedepannya. sebagai pilihan, konsep musik Grindcore yang berdurasi kurang dari 2 menit dengan gaungan vokal yang garang, serta gebukan drum yang kencang dibalut dengan sound yang sedikit kasar, kritikan lirik identik dengan pemberontakan terhadap sistem dan tatanan sosial dalam skala domestik hingga skala yang paling besar sekalipun, kebijakan politik serta ideologi sebuah negara yang menjadi tema dan ciri baru dalam sentral musik antipop sampai saat ini. Antipop banyak di pengaruhi oleh band-band oldscul metal macam Brujeria, Napalam Death, Carscass, Gorefest, Death, Agatochles, Entombed, Suffocation, Kreator, Cannibal Corpse, Godflesh, Brutalitiy dll. Dengan modal seperti inilah mereka akan meracuni publik metal-Underground Bali khususnya dan Indonesia umumnya.

Sebenaranya nama “ANTIPOP” ini merupakan sebuah simbul kecil atas perlawanan mereka sebagai kaum minoritas atas banyaknya dampak negative yang dihasilkan & ditularkan ke masyarakat luas dengan cara tidak langsung melalui media yang bersifat massal. Ia, iklan, di tengah masyarakat kontemporer hari ini sesungguhnya tidaklah lagi berurusan dengan hal-hal yang sifatnya komersial, melainkan lebih menekan pada kekuatannya memproduksi dan mereproduksi citraan tentang sebuah realitas.

Tapi bagaimana pun budaya pop memang tak bisa kita negasikan, katakanlah atas nama demokrasi kebudayaan. Dalam kebudayaan poplah semua lapisan sosial hadir dan melebur tanpa kerumitan mengapresiasinya, ketimbang apa yang disebut orang dengan high-culture. Semuanya sudah mencair, demikian pula dalam persoalan global-lokal. Dalam konteks budaya pop dan korelasinya dengan fenomena gaya hidup, serta bagaimana seluruhnya itu dibangun oleh industrialisasi dan kapitalisme mutakhir yang menjadikan media sebagai agen ”propaganda”-nya inilah, budaya pop seringkali dicurigai sebagai sebuah kekuatan hegemonik yang fasis, ketika identitas dan imajinasi seseorang ditentukan dari atas.

Jelas semua ini ada pengaruhnya pada cara pandang terhadap realitas. Budaya pop membawa mereka pada realitas yang serba permukaan. Realitas yang hanya sekadar kulit luarnya, realitas palsu, sebuah simulacra.

Biografi Superman Is Dead

Bermarkas di Kuta Rock City. Beranggotakan 3 pemuda asal Bali berusia 20-an, baik hati, bijak bestari, dan tepo seliro yaitu:

» Bobby Cool (beer drinker, lead vocal, guitar, well-known as “The Bastard Child of Fat Mike” since his voice sounds pretty similar with that NOFX frontman)
» Eka Rock (beer drinker, bass, backing vocal, warm smilin’ Rock ‘N Roll bandman)
» Jerinx (hairwax junkie, drum, beer drinkin’ Rock’N Roll prince charming)

Nama tendensius Superman Is Dead (SID) dicomot dari Stone Temple Pilot’s “Superman Silvergun“. Namun karena dianggap miskin konotasi, zonder rasa bersalah secara sewenang-wenang nama tersebut lalu diganti menjadi “Superman Is Dead” - yang seenak udelnya dimaknai sebagai: tak ada manusia yang sempurna.

Pada mula kemunculan, akhir 95, SID pekat teracuni warna Green Day & NOFX. Seiring beringsutnya waktu, inspirasi musikal SID bergeser ke genre Punk ‘N Roll a la Supersuckers, Living End & Social Distortion.

Imej yang frontal hendak ditonjolkan oleh SID ke publik, self-described as: “Blitzkrieg 3-chordsabilly Beer Punk Rock” (think raw energy of Ramones vs Living End meets Supersuckers + Sid Vicious’ nihilism yet supersonicaly fueled with beer-soaked Rockabilly attitude… Ribet, kan? Horeee…)

SID sendiri telah menerbitkan 3 indie album (Case 15 - thn 95; Superman Is Dead - thn 99; Bad, Bad, Bad - Maret 2002, berformat mini album - berisikan 6 lagu). Menuju pelebaran skala wilayah pencapaian publik, fajar 2003 SID - bekerjasama dengan Spills Record - merilis ulang “Bad, Bad, Bad” dalam bentuk single (4 lagu). Maret 2003, SID menandatangani kontrak dengan Sony Music Indonesia. Yang mengejutkan, Sony Music berbesar hati mempersilakan SID riang gembira terus bernyanyi dalam lirik mayoritas berbahasa Inggris. Tepatnya 70% Inggris, 30% Indonesia. Wow. Sony Music nekat (namun terukur)? Atau beranggapan sudah saatnya menancapkan jejak monumental? Atau semata capek/males/bosen/ngantuk dibombardir ewuh pakewuh etos adiluhung Punk Rock oleh kontingen big badass Balinese beer band bernama SID? Whoa… (Hey, whatever it is, the history of Indonesian Punk Rock has just begun. And miracles are real, mind you)

Kilas balik, pra-tragedi bom, SID agresif diundang berkiprah di kafe-kafe internasional di seantero Kuta yang mana SID dipersilakan memuntahkan gubahan sendiri (baca: bukan sebagai cover band). Esensial dicatat, untuk skala lokal hal ini belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya di Bali. Di masa silam, legiun band yang beraksi di pub-pub di Kuta hanya diijinkan mengusung ciptaan orang lain.

Popularitas SID perlahan kian menjulang ketika satu demi satu tembang SID - yang dominan berlirik Inggris - ultra frekuentif diputar di radio-radio lokal berpengaruh di Bali melebar ke Jawa, percaya atau tidak, lagu-lagu SID telah gencar juga diperdengarkan oleh radio-radio di Australia, Swedia dan jazirah Skandinavia lainnya.

Langkah fenomenal SID dimulai pada Agustus 2002 saat menjadi band pembuka Hoobastank di Hard Rock Hotel, Kuta, Bali. Kemudian pertengahan September 2002, SID sukses mengobrak-abrik Senayan di acara Puma Street Games. Berlanjut Desember 2002, SID digjaya meluluhlantakkan PL Fair. Berikutnya diwawancara oleh MTV Sky, M97 FM, Prambors, dsb, serta masif diekspos oleh hampir seluruh majalah remaja populer nasional. Di Hai edisi tahunan 2002-2003 bersama Rocket Rockers, SID dimunculkan sebagai The Next Big Thing. Oleh MTV Trax, SID dinobatkan sebagai band potensial 2003.

Epos Punk Rock paling mutakhir, SID telah merampungkan proses rekaman bersama Sony Music dengan judul album “Kuta Rock City” dan hingga minggu ke-3 telah terjual puluhan ribu kopi.
Disusul dengan “The Hangover Decade” akhir 2004, selanjutnya “Black Market Love” pada akhir Mei 2006, Dan yang paling terakhir albumnya berjudul "Anggels And The Outsider"

Biografi Straightout

Mei 1998. Dari sela-sela kerusuhan nasional, terbentuklah Straightout yang diprakarsai oleh Mui (vocals) dan Pipinx (guitars). Pada awal musikalitasnya, Straightout di pengaruhi oleh band-band Hardcore seperti Earth Crisis dan strife. Namun seiring dengan berjalannya waktu, perjalanan panggung dan pergantian line-up yang tidak sedikit, mereka tidak lagi memainkan Hardcore. Pengaruh musikal mereka bergeser ke arah Band Metal macam Hamartia, Dead Blue Sky, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Iron Maiden, hingga Cradle of Filth.

Straightout memiliki suatu ciri sendiri dalam bermusik, bernuansa kelam, sorrow, dan juga megah. Dipadati dengan tempo yang cepat, fill-in dan melodi-melodi yang kritis. Dari dentingan piano dan alunan gundah suara wanita. Hingga sayatan-sayatan gitar yang tebal mendalam. Diiringi oleh derasnya hentakan drum dan disuarai oleh teriakan pilu yang menggeram. Ketika perform, Straightout pun memiliki aksi panggung yang cukup sulit untuk dideskripsikan melalui tulisan semata. Mereka sangguh enerjik dan atraktif. Biografi Painful by Kisses

Pada awalnya band ini dibentuk oleh gagasan Febry (vokalis) dan Donnie (Gitaris). Mereka berdua memiliki minat yang sama dalam jenis musik yang mereka sebut EMO. Febry dan Donnie bertanya Tude (Guitar / melody), apakah ia ingin bergabung dengan mereka dan dia setuju. Kemudian mereka mencari drumer, bukan hanya yang Biasa aja tapi drumer drumer yang bisa memahami jenis musik mereka. Jadi, Donnie dan Tude bertanya thair teman Copz (Drummer) apakah dia tertarik menjadi drummer. Setelah mencari Bassist Angga Febry bertanya apakah ia ingin jpin band. Dan akhirnya 1 Desember 2006 sebuah band baru dengan banyak karakter lahir, Painful By Kisses!! Mengapa Painfull By Kisses? Yah, Donie (Gitaris) memiliki gagasan, ia mengatakan bahwa arti Painful By Kisses adalah segala sesuatu yang dimulai dengan sebuah ciuman "o" sesuatu yang sederhana akan berakhir dengan sebuah bencana atau sebuah 'Bencana yang indah'. "Kadang-kadang segala sesuatu tidak berjalan seperti yang kita harapkan!!". Dengan ini kami mencoba untuk mengambil bagian dari Lifes, persahabatan, cinta atau bahkan musuh untuk menggambarkan mereka dengan lirik kami.

Band Killing Me Inside (Killms) adalah band bergenre Modern Rock / Emo yang dibentuk pada awal tahun 2006 dengan personilnya, yaitu : Sansan sebagai vokalis, Raka dan Josaphat sebagai gitaris, Onadio sebagai bassis dan Rendy pada drum. Pada pertengahan '08, Raka (gitaris) Killing Me Inside terpaksa mengundurkan diri untuk bergabung dengan band lain (Vierra) karena beberapa alasan.

"Gue harus mengundurkan diri dari band ini (Killms) karena adanya bentrok antara 2 band yaitu Killing Me Inside dan Vierra. Kedua band ini akan menjalankan kontrak dimana suatu pihak tidak membolehkan playernya untuk mempunyai lebih dari 1 band. Saat ini gue berada di posisi yang bagi gue hasil akhirnya sama skali bukan apa yang gua inginkan, dimana gue diharuskan untuk memilih Vierra yang disebabkan oleh "suatu faktor keluarga" yang sama sekali gak bisa gue tolak," kata Raka seperti yang dituliskan di Blog Myspace Killms.

Kemudian pada tahun itu, memasuki 2009, setelah beberapa kali manggung dan melakukan tour, Sansan (Vokalis) dan Rendy (Drum) meninggalkan band dan juga karena beberapa alasan. Sansan sebagai vokalis keluar karena memang pilihannya dia sendiri untuk keluar (sekarang ada di Pee Wee Gaskins) dan Rendy sebagai Drummer mengundurkan diri karena sibuk untuk rencana jangka panjangnya demi masa depan.

Formasi terbaru Killms adalah sebagai berikut: Onadio sebagai vokalis, Josaphat pada gitar, Agung pada bass dan Davi untuk menggantikan Rendy pada drum. Band ini sudah mempunyai satu album yaitu "A Fresh Start For Something New" yang hitsnya lagunya yaitu "The Tormented".

Profil Burgerkill

MENDENGAR nama BURGERKILL, buat kamu yang biasa berkiprah di scene underground tentu bukan nama baru lagi. Maklumlah, band yang mengusung hardcore ini termasuk 'bangkotan' di kancah musik yang kerap dituding "menonjolkan kegelapan" itu.

Lahir secara "iseng -iseng" (begitu kata Ebenk, gitaris) tahun 1995 di daerah Ujung Berung (daerah ini sering disebut Bandung Coret, karena berada di pinggiran -red), BK mengambil nama plesetan dari sebuah restoran di sekitar markas mereka.

Mungkin awalnya hanya sebagai side project dari Ebenk yang sebelumnya sudah "terjun" di scene underground di Jakarta, sebelum meneruskan sekolah di Bandung. Cita-cita mereka berubah lebih serius ketika single mereka masuk di CD Kompilasi band-band Bandung garapan Richard Mutter (dramer PAS Band -red) bertajuk masaindahbangetsekalipisan tahun 1997.

Ketika mereka masuk ke SONY MUSIC dan merilis album baru BERKARAT, ada beberapa kalangan yang menuduh BK berkhianat. Selama ini memang masih ada anggapa, major label dan indie label adalah "dua kubu" yang saling berseberangan. Lalu bagaimana tanggapan Ivan (vokalis), Ebenk (gitar), Agung (gitar), Andris (bas), dan Toto (dram) tentang tudingan itu. Lalu apa bedanya ketika masuk label besar dengan "masa-masa" ber-indie? Djoko Moernantyo dari TEMBANG.com mewawancarai secara khusus band yang personilnya memlih musik sebagai jalan hidup mereka.
